"what is the art of math?"
"why do we learn this?"
"will we ever use it outside of school?"
"why even teach us?"
many good questions that many students ask the teacher each day. the fact of the matter is that we will not use the math and we will have no need for it.
"then why does the teacher teach us such things??"
its the curriculum, this is what hte teacher is given and his/her job is to teach us the information on the curriculum. it may not be what the teacher wants to teach, but either way, it has to be done.
"but we dont understand it!"
thats ok! it's the teachers job to teach and inscrutct, to help u understand and to learn the information that is needed.
"why is it needed if we wont use it outside of the classroom?"
this is the teachers job to teach us this information, is it gonna hlpe us later in life? will it benifit us, proboly not, but either way, you have to learn it if you want to get a good grade in school and pass the class.
idk, i need ideas for blogs and this seemed like a good one =]

help in the calssroom (teaching students)
now my goal is to become a teacher someday, and i would prefer to teach little kids (2Nd-4Th grade)
i have some ideas to help keep the classroom fun, entertaining and still a great learning environment.
i know that at this age for kids it is the most critical part of their lifes, how they act latter in life, how they learn, and how they're attitude towards school is all affected in at this young age.
i was thinking tips and little activity's to keep the kids going would be fun Little games that i grew up with.
for example, does anyone remember "around the world" with the math flashcards?! haha i loved that game and it helped me so much with math, i think that if kids find a topic that they don't like at an early age, they wont like it later in life, so if u make games to keep them involved and enjoying the topic, they will take that attitude with them further in school.
also the mad minute?! we jsut did it in class last week and i dont know bout everyone else, but i enjoyed it!
i want to teach little kids, teach them and help them progress in life and i dont know, i feel that makeing the kids smile and like the classroom will hlep them much later in life.
if any1 has any ideas or tips for me, PLZ post them! i'll take any help i can get.haha
thanks =]

math phobia
math phobia...
who has it, who needs help with it, what is it?!
math phobia is the fear of math, plan and simple.
someone who fears the numbers, thinks they will fail, and wont understand.
this is a really easy phobia to obtain and a very unnecessary phobia.
some one who has this phobia will most likely over think the problem and come to a halt in the solution it's self. someone with math phobia will most likely not understand the curiculum the first time. the mis understanding of numbers and steps to solve the problem.. it puts a major hurt on the students learning ablilty.
I dont have math phobia, i am not affected by it, my goal is to become a teacher, an elemantery teacher. there fore i can not have a fear of numbers or understanding. i needed to overcome this phobia to be able to understand the curiculum that i am supost to be able to teach to my future students.
my atvice to kids, students, anyone with math phobia.. i had it once when i was younger, i got over my fear. it's not that hard 2 understand math, just take a few deep breaths, listen clearly, and write down alot of notes, and if u still have problems, NEVER be afriad to ask for help. it never hurt and u never know, maybe someone else had the same question but was too shy 2 ask. lol
good luck =]
